The Time to Act Is NOW!

The Governor’s 2009-2010 Budget Proposal calls for a 5% reduction in funding for Pennsylvania’s libraries.  And just when we thought it couldn’t get worse, the State Senate passed S.B. 850 – a proposal that slashes library services by cutting more than 50% of funding!

Loyal patrons of Lebanon County Libraries and local printer, Fisher Business Forms, teamed to spearhead a grassroots advocacy effort on behalf of libraries across the state.

Libraries' Role in Times of Economic Crisis

Lebanon libraries are seeing the impact of a weakened economy on library usage. Demand for library services is increasing, but library funding is either flat or decreasing.

How can you help? Advocate for your library. Talk to your schools, clubs, and municipal officials about the value of your library to its community. Share your library stories – how have libraries helped you? Contact your library and donate time, money, or supplies and find out other ways you can lend support.
